I started a WordPress backup/partial mirror for my Patreon content! I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time, but moving hosts was the big holdup in finally getting it done.
My main beef was that Patreon’s blogging platform leaves a lot to be desired. Both the writing AND the reading. A blog is a much more pleasant reading experience and user interface.
Two, platforms are not eternal, so having this content in a place that’s under my control and easy to edit sounds way better than fussing with Patreon’s blogging tools forever.
So you can head over and register by logging in with Patreon!
I’ll be online for a few hours to troubleshoot when this post goes live! (Around 10 AM Eastern Time.) If a few of you have time to register to test things out for me, make sure I’ve set everything up right, that would be cool. Either comment, send a message, or get at me on Discord if you have trouble. :)
So, access to the patron blog will be added to all tiers! Your Patreon membership will unlock all the respective content here!
A LOT, but not all, of my older content is now tagged and searchable, but it all got stripped of the commentary/blogging in the process. Unavoidable, unfortunately. I’m going to restore some of my favorites from the missing Patreon posts, but just getting 5 years of content into the blog, titled, and tagged was enough for me, so that’ll be that. Most things from the end of November 2018 and forward are direct backups with all the commentary!
For now, I plan to just directly mirror all my content in both places, so you can choose where you browse! If you’re like me and still on Team RSS Readers, then the WordPress blog has the big advantage of an RSS feed, but you’ll still get Patreon notifications/emails too, if you’ve got that stuff turned on.
So go check it out! See you there. :)
